2009-09-09 12:41:25 by Anthony Heath (United Kingdom)Dear Kostas, I thought you would like to know that we all very much enjoyed our holiday in Crete. It was a lovely villa in an ideal situation and everything ran smoothly. We are very grateful to you for making the arrangements – it was particularly kind of you to meet us and we very much appreciated the owners leading our convoy across to the villa. The owners were very hospitable and generous - could you please thank them on our behalf? Indeed everyone we met was very friendly, the beaches and tavernas were lovely, and we had some great trips to Imbros gorge, Phaestos and Rethymno. We shall certainly be coming back to Crete again next year, possibly back to Plakias itself. Could you please let us know in due course what villas you have available – apart from Plakias, we were recommended by a Cretan friend to explore the Lasithi area, which we haven’t yet been too. Do you have anything suitable there? Very best wishes, anthony
2009-09-02 15:53:37 by Chris and Ann Norman (United Kingdom)As a family of 6 (grandparents, parents, teenager and 9-yr-old) we rented a beautiful villa in its own grounds from VillasinCrete.com whom I can thoroughly recommend. We were halfway up a mountain between Tsemes and Maroulas, a tranquil and very rural spot, totally non-overlooked and with the most spectacular views on almost all sides. The villa owner seemed to have thought of EVERYTHING to make our stay comfortable, and although we normally spend some time on the beach, we mostly stayed in and around our house for the entire fortnight. I cannot recommend this company highly enough; even the driving directions from Chania airport were clear and concise and enabled us to get to our destination with no trouble. The fact that there was a built-in barbeque by the pool also meant that we saved money, since we ate every other night, and didn\'t have the hassle of driving down to Tsemes or Platanes for our evening meal. The large taverna in Tsemes was undoubtedly superior to ANY in Platanes, (I\'m sorry I didn\'t make a note of its name, but you can\'t miss it, it is huge and on a prominent corner, also patronised by the Greeks) whereas we didn\'t really find one we thought much of in Platanes. I am surprised to see another review of the Taverna Vergina in Platanes praising it, as we thought it was total rubbish; my kleftiko was all bones and fat, and my grand-daughter\'s nuggets were filled with potato! Our only downside was the fact that we hired our two cars from Athens Cars, and they failed to come up with the goods! Only one was available when we arrived at Chania airport, and it took some hours and a lot of hassle to obtain another car, although they did lend us their minibus to get to the property. Black mark, Athens Cars, but of course there are dozens of other car hire firms to choose from. A brilliant holiday!

2008-11-04 14:52:42 by Precey (United Kingdom)Hi Kostas, We had the most brilliant time in your beautiful country, and we would all love to return but as for when it is a bit early to say due to the financial climate here. Please thank Stelios, he is the most charming host and is obviously very proud of his villa, you were right in what you say there are only good things to be said about him and his property we were made to feel very welcome immediately and what a marvelous place to just chill out and un-wind. If and when we do return to Crete we will have to try and book Villa Elisabeth again. Please tell Stelios, his parting gift of a pot is now on the cill of my kitchen window with a new growth of Basil beginning to show. Efkhareesto once again Kind Regards Nick
